As members may be aware, the ballots for the Group Executive Committee (GEC) and National Executive Committee (NEC) are now open.
The GEC runs the union’s Revenue & Customs Group and is responsible for negotiating with HMRC. Elections for this committee will be conducted via workplace ballot. Reps will be going around the office handing out ballot papers and election hustings.
The NEC is responsible for the running of the union as a whole, negotiating directly with the government as well as coordinating amongst the respective GECs. Elections for this committee will take place via postal ballot. You may have already received this through the post. The deadline for these to be received is 5th May and ballot papers received after this date will not be counted.
It is important that members take part in these elections in order to have your say in who runs the union for the coming year.
