Work-to-rule: week two

On Thursday 9 August, PCS Bootle Taxes Branch are holding members’ meetings to discuss the ongoing Tax Justice For All campaign and the work to rule.

It is really important that all members take this opportunity to find out more about the current campaign strategy and what happens next.

Meetings are in your own time, but will last no more than half an hour. Please do everything you can to attend your meeting, your views are important and we want to hear from you.

Please encourage all of your colleagues to attend too, as we want to involve as many people as possible in these meetings.

Triad meetings – the corner of Ash Street and Stanley Road, next to Subs, 1pm or 4.30pm

Litherland House meeting – the park opposite Litherland House, 12.30pm

All meetings take place on Thursday 9 August.

Action to be taken in week 2, 6 August 2012

In addition to the activity begun during week 1:

  • Members should withdraw their official driver status and should use public transport for all HMRC off site business
  • At the beginning of each day members should ensure that they read up on any guidance changes and emails that may impact on their work rather than wait for information to be cascaded
  • All SPDs, SOPs, SWIs, pacesetter guidelines and so forth are to be followed to the letter ensuring that no corners are cut. For example: Compliance – record all relevant compliance work in a detailed manner on the HMRC Cashflow system; Contact Centres – follow call type processes no matter how long it takes.

You can download a .xls copy of the work-to-rule checklist, covering all five weeks of activity, here.
