Back the Budget Day strikers

6146_budget_day_campaign_page_graphicPCS members are taking action on Budget Day to stop attacks on their livelihoods and job security.

Action will start with a 24-hour strike. When the chancellor stands up to deliver his budget members will be protesting across the UK, including a rally outside Parliament from 12pm.

As well as not attending work, we would encourage our members and supporters to take an active role in the action in several ways:

  • Join the picket line at your workplace – pickets will be in place at the Triad and Litherland House from before 7am, so whether its for half an hour, the morning or a significant portion of the day, be sure to show your face!
  • Join the rally in Liverpool City Centre – this will take place at the Liner Hotel, Lord Nelson Street, from 11 til 12 am. It is likely to be followed by fundraising and social activity, which we will detail to members ahead of time.

Whether you’re a PCS member or not, please also take the time to write to your MP, asking them to support meaningful negotiations with our union. This is quick and easy to do at our e-action page here. Ahead of the strike, you can also tell George Osborne that Britain needs a pay rise.

Finally, all individual and group messages of support should be sent to solidarity@pcs.org
