Thanks to PCS campaigning and pressure, the decision on the future of our face to face network has been extended to 31 December. However, the jobs of 1,300 staff in our Enquiry Centres are still at risk and the fight to defend them continues.
As part of this fight, there will be a lunchtime protest outside the Enquiry Centre in Bootle on Wednesday 11 December. All PCS members, trade union and community campaigners, service users and opponents of austerity are invited to join us.
We are also encouraging members to get involved in other ways as part of the fortnight of campaigning activity agreed by the Group Executive Committee:
Contact your MP and ask them to sign early day motion 612, and to take our concerns up with Lin Homer and the Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury David Gauke.
The more political pressure and public support we can build in our campaign, the greater chance we have of saving this vital service and 1,300 jobs. Please join us.
