Mark Serwotka, the general secretary of our union, has recorded a new message for PCS members where he talks about why we need to strike on 15 October, our strategy beyond that day of action, and the attacks on public sector workers and on PCS.
On Wednesday, 15 October PCS members in the civil service and related areas are striking for fair pay.
The strike is part of a rolling programme of action across much of the public sector, with unions in the health service taking strike action on 13 October, local government on 14 October and in the civil service on 15 October. The action is also in the run-up to the TUC Britain needs a pay rise demonstration in London, the STUC demonstration in Scotland and Irish Congress of Trade Unions’ Northern Ireland Committee’s march in Belfast on Saturday, 18 October.
Bootle Taxes Branch are asking members to support other union’s picket lines on the 13 and 14 October, as well as the one at your own workplace on 15 October. Details of this and other activities on the day will be available from your local reps.
