All PCS members, members of sister unions and local residents welcome
HMRC is pressing ahead with plans to close all of its offices and move into new Regional Centres. The Liverpool Regional Centre in India Buildings will take in staff from across the North West and North Wales, leading to job losses for those unable to move.
In Bootle, a recent survey of PCS members suggested around a quarter of the 2,500 strong workforce would have difficulty moving to Liverpool. The loss of so many jobs also threatens to have a huge detrimental impact on the local economy.
PCS Bootle Taxes Branch, representing workers in all four affected HMRC offices in the area, are campaigning to retain a presence in St John’s House on Merton Road. This will allow those unable to move to continue working for the department and help offset the impact on the local economy.
Come to the public meeting to discuss how PCS members, local residents and other unions can work together to win for workers and for Bootle. All welcome.
